Hey it’s me again, Nicole, your OKC resident foodie. This weekend I took a trip to the Loaded Bowl. I kept hearing amazing reviews of this place and so I had to try check it out. Everything on the menu is vegan and most things can be made gluten free – yay for food allergy inclusivity! All the entrees are around $10 and you definitely get your money’s worth!
It was really raining over the weekend which had me craving comfort food so I decided to try the Down Home Bowl. It consisted of cashew mac and cheese, chopped tofu barbecue, and grilled broccoli. And let me tell you, it was so good!! I didn’t even miss having meat or cheese. The cashew mac and cheese had a subtle cheese like flavor and was really creamy and tasty. The chopped barbecue tofu was probably my favorite part. The way it was cooked I couldn’t even tell it was tofu. It wasn’t slimy or squishy like tofu I’ve had before and the barbecue sauce on top was so smoky and flavorful. Lastly, the grilled broccoli was a nice edition to balance out the meal and get another serving of veggies! While I did get a heavier entrée, the menu has a lot of entrees that are lighter and chalk full of veggies.
Overall, I was really impressed with my first visit to the Loaded Bowl and I will definitely be back!! Even if you’re not vegan, this place is worth trying. The portions are generous and the food is full of flavor!!
Until next time,
